Dec.18th

Today was a good day. The orange cordial is coming along just fine. Quite yummy, I might add. It is a gallon of organic VODKA.
Tasting is fun, too bad I don't like to drink. LOL Ironic, Isn't it?
I made more gourmet apple sauce. This batch is a keeper.
I get another 15 lbs. of apples tomorrow. Guess what I will be doing monday? Yup... more apple sauce.
Too tired to grate 8 oranges and make another gallon. My hands are tires from peeling 15 lbs. worth of apples last night. My daughter Shelley had House on in the background, it was great company.
Got my christmas presents ready for tomorrow family Christmas party. A 4 oz. bottle of cordial and 2 cordial glasses. :) Pluse I had to dress u p the gift bag. Had to use what I had on hand.

bye for now.

1st day blogging

I can't believe I am blogging and I did it all on my own. WOOHOO!
OK... cordials. I took a class on cordial making in November and now I am inthralled and consumed by VODKA and FRUIT!
I started my 1st qt. raspberry cordial Nov. 19th. I tasted it last saturday. WOW. I made a pear/cinnamon one as well. They are "turning" out better than expected.

I made a cranberry one on Tuesday.... it started turning south in 24 hours. Bubbles are bad! Had to take it to the cordial (and fabulous teacher) " Chemist", Trish. Turns out, it started to turn because i did not cut the berries in 1/2 and there was more fruit than VODKA! Not to mention, they are loaded with water. Water is another reason for turning into champagne not cordial
I made a gallon of orange cordial last night. Checked it today. No bubbles and it tasted wonderful.

Cordial is the old time way of using what we do now as... Liqueurs

I forgot to date yesterday masterpiece in the making.

By for now.
